Experience the Pioneer Theatre Tradition...
The Pioneer Theatre has a rich
tradition in providing the Iowa Great Lakes and the Milford area with great movies
and excellent service. The theatre itself was originally built in the early 20th
century, and it is one of the only buildings in downtown Milford to remain largely
unchanged throughout its existence.
In 2001, the theatre was sold to
its present owners, Bob and Sharon Mayer. Since taking ownership, the Mayer
family has dedicated much time and effort into transforming the theatre into a state
of the art movie house. Repairs commenced in early 2003 to replace the seating
and update the auditorium. Shortly thereafter, the theatre lobby was repainted
and the projection and sound systems were given an upgrade, increasing the level
of quality and reliability. The addition of a soda fountain in 2005 called
for extensive restoration of the concession stand.
The latest improvement to the theatre
involved the installation of a state-of-the-art DTS digital sound system in mid-2006.
DTS digital sound provides our audiences with the best sound experience possible
in a traditional cinema environment.
With our outstanding staff and
customer service, the Pioneer Theatre guarantees you a quality movie experience
each and every time you visit. If you haven’t already become a part of the
Pioneer Theatre tradition, we would like to extend to you an invitation to experience
the Pioneer difference.
