"What's the next
movie?" It's no secret. We want our customers to know what
our next movie is going to be as soon as we do. Unfortunately, we don't have
any idea what could be coming next Friday until that Monday rolls around.
The reason for this seemingly short notice is the movie business itself. Theatres
nationwide decide what movie(s) they will keep for another week and which movies
to pick up or drop after examining the box office sales for the weekend. This
enables us to adapt very rapidly to our customers' movie preferences.
"What is DTS digital sound?" DTS is one of three premium
quality digital sound formats that are used in today's 35-millimeter film soundtracks.
The DTS (Digital
Theatre Systems) soundtrack
provides movie viewers with 6 discrete channels of high-quality digital sound.
Four of these channels are located directly behind the screen (Left, Center, Right,
and Low Frequency Effects). The other two are the left and right surround
channels, which are located on the auditorium walls. For more information
on digital sound and how it works,
Our sound sytem is powered by high quality QSC amplifiers to provide a total power
output of more than 4,800 watts! With this system, we guarantee you the most
thrilling sound experience available in Northwest Iowa. Of course, we are
careful to make sure that the movie is not playing at a level that is uncomfortable
to our patrons.
"Who picks the movies?" Generally speaking, the
Pioneer Theatre Manager is responsible for choosing what movies come to Milford.
He consults with a booking agent who works with the film studios to decide what
movie(s) will work best for any given week. His primary goal is to satisfy
as many customers as possible with his decisions. If you have a specific movie
request, you may contact the manager
here.
